Quick checks before you call
These are safe to try and sometimes solve the problem — saving you a visit.
- Clean the lint screen — and if it's been a while, wash it with warm soapy water to remove dryer-sheet film.
- Go outside while it runs: you should feel strong warm air at the vent hood. Weak air means a clogged vent.
- Check the breaker: electric dryers use a double breaker, and one half can trip so it tumbles with no heat.

Questions
Why does my dryer take so long?
Most often a clogged vent, then heating parts. Our dryer taking too long guide explains what to check.
Do you repair gas dryers?
Yes. If you ever smell gas, leave the house and call PG&E or 911 first.
How much does dryer repair cost?
$55 service call, applied to the repair. Common fixes like a thermal fuse or belt are usually done in one visit.
Can you fix a squeaking dryer?
Yes — that's usually worn rollers, an idler pulley or a belt. One of our customers' reviews is exactly that story.
